5/52 Portraits: That Nagging Issue (Part II)

Artist Self Portraits. 52 Portraits Class from Get Messy Art Journal. Self Portrait by Lauren-Likes BlogPart I: That Nagging Issue hereMy space is often chaotic and unruly. Overwhelming and confusing. I am late. I can't quite remember whatever the thing was. It is daunting, this clutter. But it is unescapable. It tends to rule my desk, my counter space, my bag, my sleep, my bathroom, my closet, my pile of shoes by the door, my sink, my refrigerator and my laundry. It is a myth that artists work better in clutter and chaos. This is untrue. I cannot find my supplies or spread out and tend to spill and ruin other projects due to the overlapping of pages, canvases, paintings and books. I clean and I clean and I purge and I sort, but there is never an end to the piles and the messes. This nagging issue has followed me like a shadow all of my days, I seem to never outrun him. No matter how hard I try, the old sphinx slinks his way back in one randomly discarded item at a time.52 Portraits is a photography course in self discovery by Vanessa and is hosted through Get Messy Art Journal.
