Baby Quilting!

DIY

quilt-titleI love it when my friends have babies and I get to make them amazing gifts that will *hopefully* turn into their baby's most beloved objects that they will take to college with them....high hopes anyone? This was my second quilt and Ive made and by far my favorite. (see my first quilt here) The design was just perfect and came out exactly how I imaged and it was SO easy! The squares were simple but the size of a baby quilt is the absolute best, you can fly through these. I wanted this quilt to be obviously for a boy but modern enough to transition with him.aceI mean, come on! How cute are those cheeks? And those eye?! I cannot believe how big babies get in just a year. Crazy! He is about 1 month on the left and almost a year on the right. He's just the best and cutest and I can't wait to find out if he's having a little brother or sister this summer so I can start working on a sibling quilt!I based my design on this quilt. I followed tutorials from Elise on her blog here and from her very helpful (and retiring soon!) ecourse. I use this batting  (it's my favorite). You can follow my whole Pin board here to see more quilts I love.quilt-4 quilt-3This back pattern is my all time favorite and is clearly going to be my signature. It is simple, but still has an amazing graphic punch and I love it as much as I love the fronts of this quilt.quilt-1The hand stitched initials are always the best, sweetest touch! And I hope he knows how much he is so loved every time he sees those little stitches by his auntie from far far away. Ugh stop having such cute babies! Ok, don't stop just bring them to Korea.quilt-2
