Get Messy 26 practice pages + November Prompt

Romans scriptI went for a little less traditional type of sharing today. I've been practicing scripting recently (as it is my greatest creative struggle) and I used a verse that was really speaking to me lately. So I thought I would share how I use my art journal not just to create things to share but as a place of practicing (there are tons of pages of letters over and over and over again. Mostly S's, those are so hard!) and collecting ideas, etc. Scripted scripture art journal by Lauren LikesI'm taking the Studio Calico class with Ashley Goldberg Paint, Plan, Play and one of her suggestions was to create a washi tape reference page and I would like to say she is a genius! Why havent I thought of this before?! Now I can quickly have an idea of what colors I have and need, which ones stick better than others, what their textures are (how I love the fabric washi!) and can reference them for future projects. I left a little bit of room at the bottom to add additional tapes (I get a new tape each month in my studio calico kits and I tend to buy them like a crazy lady). Oh and this makes for an adorable 2 page spread....Washi tape art journal by Lauren Likes washi 2  WashiHow the prompts work: The 6 main hosts of Get Messy will rotate creating prompts each month. On the first Thursday of the month, the new prompt will be announced (always on my blog) for you to participate too! You have about a month to complete your page(s) inspired by this prompt. Then we want you to return here (again, always on my blog) on the last Thursday of the month to participate in a fun link up so we can all admire your creation! Ok? OK! This week’s prompt comes from the queen of productivity Andrea! Journaling challenge: Pick one word that describes you right now. Just one word. Art challenge: Play with the word you picked. Use letter stickers, cut out your word from magazines and create a collage, write your word a hundred times on a piece of paper and use it as a background, use paint to write your word, … The main focus should be on your word.GetMessy2Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Go check out these crazy talented ladies who are creating pages who each have a unique perspective and style. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.
