The prettiest mail I ever did send

Snail mail by Lauren-Likes Snail mail is one of my top favorite things that I practice the least. So in an effort to work on this, I love participating in the Lovely Letters: a snail mail exchange. There is still time to sign up for June's event. Sign up here and read more here.To celebrate Mothers day we planned a surprise picnic for the mothers in our family. So, to be all fancy, make them feel special and to let them in on the fact that we actually had a plan, I sent these pretty invitations. They were super easy to make and I feel like I found the perfect combination of must haves for sending pretty mail.Snail mail by Lauren-Likes Materials:

  • doily
  • ribbon, twine or string
  • your actual letter
  • envelope
  • something extra

Snail mail by Lauren-Likes I made my own envelopes out of scrapbook paper using a tracing template I picked up at craft store years ago, but those templates are easy to find online or you can just carefully unglue an envelope you already have. This was my first attempt at using my new found skill of calligraphy on an actual project and I was very pleased with how well it turned out for my first try. The calligraphy ink bleed a ton though, so ill make a mental note for the future...Then for the insides! I typed our invite into a word document and aligned it the way I wanted and printed it on vellum. I attached it to a piece of scrapbook paper with brads. Then I added a printable quote that very nicely sums up my mom, found here. I wrapped it in a doily and tied it up with some pretty twine. Simple and yet so dreamy. What do you always include in your snail mail?Snail mail by Lauren-Likes This project is a part of a series called 1 paper pack, 10 projects where I am creating 10 completely different projects from one pack of scrapbook paper to demonstrate its versatility!
