Thankfulness Saturday: friendship

These are my people. Not to sound like a total mean girl, but I have a lot of friends. In a were-really-blessed-with-a-great-community kind of way. But when it boils down to it, these are my people.1-June 2013None of these girls went to high school with me. None of them played with me in the sandbox. That's awesome if you have those kinds of friends who just always have been your friends and you can't remember when or how they became your friends, they just are. But my friends, I chose them. Some of them I literally chose by telling them 'hey you, you will be my friend' and for some reason they said 'ok'. These are my 5. If I had to boil it down to who I would want on a desert island or who I call when I'm in a crisis: It would be them and normally its all of them. They all serve a different role in my life. Some are my smack in the face are you serious? friend. Some are my yes girls. Some are my I'm so ashamed of the ridiculous thing I just did and you're the only person who either wont judge me or has done it too, so you're the only person ill ever tell friends. At any point in the day I am texting one or all of these ladies about nothing. Seriously they will read and actually respond to my stream of consciousness that I just text out. And don't get me started on how thankful my husband is for these ladies. They embrace all my weirdness so he doesn't have to. I would not trade any of them. I am so lucky to say that I have 5 best friends, separate but equal. We are at the stage in our life, these mid-20's, where we have to choose: A. become an old cat lady B. have drama with our friends like were still in high school or C. choose your friends wisely and help each other become grown ups and function in the real world but still be secretly super ridiculous and make inappropriate jokes with them. I choose C. No drama, real wisdom, really inappropriate jokes.I have the best friends and not only do I have the best best friends, but I have a lot of other really great friends. So, thank you to my friends. I love you more than I love Friends, baby hands, soda and sleeping late all combined. You are the best.
