Traveling: An Artist's Story

How To Travel Like An ArtistThis week I am in Germany with my creative BFFL, Caylee Grey. We are planning 2018 Get Messy and spoiler alert: Its going to be awesome. Since moving to the middle east, I will say that my creative well has been running low because, no offense Middle East, but could you BE anymore beige?! Seriously, everything here is a shade of white, beige or sand. So, this week in Germany, the leaves are brilliant, the food is rich, the weather is crisp and the inspiring is overflowing. The German's have covered all of their buildings in color, texture, patterns and pure JOY. I am soaking it all in and taking it home with me. You can see a few photos above and below of what and how I am gathering inspiration this trip. How might you ask am I doing this? Let me tell you: My Inspiration Notebook. I have a notebook I love, my favorite paints, a brush and a pen. I am documenting all the colors, combos, patterns, textures and anything and everything that inspires me in my notebook. Very simple, with strokes and splashes, nothing fancy. I will then take this notebook, full of ideas, home and use it to keep me sane and allow it to influence my art.I have been perfecting this technique for years now. Below, I have gathered all my best blog posts to help you get started, but best of all I created an ecourse just for you: Travel Like An Artist. Now, know that you do not have to be an artist or a traveller to take part in this course. Nope. You just have to want to make stuff and live on planet earth. All of the exercizes in this course can be done on YOUR street and you only need a notebook to do it. Check out all the info below and if you are ready to mine the world around you for color and inspiration, then I'll see you in the course!
