Listen to this inspiring interview with dancer and arts educator about following the creative process. Click through to listen.
This week is another very important and special episode. I want this podcast to keep shining lights on women who are doing incredible things for the world and this episode is the perfect example of that. This week I am interviewing my, in real life, friend Abby. We taught a Zumba class together in Korea and I fell in love with her and her sweet family. They are kind, generous, selfless and oh so creative! Abby shares all about the creative process when it comes to expressing your creativity through dance. Her wisdom and words transcend all art forms and will inspire you to break a little more free in your creative work and be bold in your self expression. Abby talks about inspiration gathering, using your mistakes to grow, how to take on a new creative challenge (like dance) as an adult, and how creativity and dance helps heal our souls. She shares about their incredible plan to move to Nepal to be teacher trainers and to bring arts and healing to the community there.

A note about learning more and partnering with Abby & Ross for their work in Nepal:
If you are as excited and intrigued as I am about the Williamsons journey to Nepal they would like to invite you to fill out the "Join Us" form on our website and receive our newsletter and/or more info. They would love to keep in touch through their newsletter with stories from Nepal and can share how you can support them on this journey. Be sure to tell them you found them via How She Creates!

How She Creates Challenge

This week we want to see how you express your creativity through dance! Get out there and try a dance class or just turn on some good jams and get moving. Share a photo or video (!!) with us using the hashtag #howshecreates.

Now, go listen and enjoy the show!

Abby Williamson is an arts educator and cheese enthusiast. She hails from Chapel Hill, NC but has lived in many places including Seattle, Houston, Kabul, Afghanistan, and Seoul, Korea. Abby has had some incredible opportunities (thank you Lord) to teach dance, creative writing, and poetry in some unique places and spaces. Abby loves merging her passions for the arts, other cultures, and mentorship to see students grow into stronger leaders and learners. She and her husband, Ross, are preparing to move to Nepal this coming summer to work with the Kathmandu International Study Centre's EQUIP program. EQUIP works with teachers, students, and communities in areas of creative problem-solving and critical thinking to raise the level of education in Nepal. They have an opinionated, curious, hilarious one-year-old son named Jude.
