Hello 25, nice to meet you

Today is my day. I'm weird about birthdays. I don't really want people to make a huge deal but it's the little things that people do, that are thoughtful, that make birthdays special. Like my sweet friends homemade me my favorite cupcakes, funfetti. Like from scratch. Seriously that's love. Or that time my roommates bought me a life-sized stocking and filled it with a lot of weird and some sweet gifts. Or when all the Young Life Leaders in Clarke county made all the kids in club text me happy birthday (seriously thankful for unlimited texting...) Or when my husband took me to a fancy hotel in Atlanta and took me to the High Museum to see Picasso, Pollock and Warhol. These are things I'll remember forever because it's not about a price tag or a big party. It's about how they know me so well and are willing to go out of their way to bring me joy.So in honor of being 25 I thought I would share 25 things that I love. That are personal. That are real.1. Handmade stuff 2. Photos 3. Scrapbooks 4. Long chats with old friends 5. Hand written letters 6. Cards from the little people in our life, even just the scribbles 7. Stories from my grandmas about their lives 8. Hand me downs 9. When you go home and your mom makes your favorite meal 10. Restaurants where they know your order and your name 11. When your parents let you drive on their lap when your little 12. Your dad teaching you to drive 13. McDonald's sweet tea on a bad day 14. Road trips 15. Walks 16. Sappy movies 17. Sleeping late 18. A day on the lake 19. Inside jokes 20. Finding shapes in clouds 21. Books 22. Small groups 23. Dancing 24. Traditions 25. Special packages in the mailSo here's to being 25. The perfect age. Not too old that you're not cool anymore but old enough that people believe that you're a grown up. Alright 25, let's see what you've got. NaBloPoMo November 2013This post is a part of the National Blog Posting Month Challenge.
